The Royal Canadian Legion recognizes that Veterans retiring from the military may need transition support services to help them reintegrate into civilian life. The journey of life after release is unique for each individual, and there is often an adjustment period for both the Veteran and their family. This transition can sometimes affect physical and mental health, disrupt financial stability, or impact relationships.
During these adjustments and challenges, the Royal Canadian Legion is committed to providing Veterans assistance. Our professional Command Service Officers are available to help you and your family access both immediate and long-term supports and services, including:
- Initiating referrals to Canadian Armed Forces Transition services to assist with relocations and job searches;
- Providing support at all stages of the disability claim process through Veterans Affairs Canada;
- Helping you and your family connect with transition and mental health supports, services, and benefits; and
- Offering emergency financial assistance and guidance in accessing additional financial supports.
Camaraderie and the Legion Community
Legion Branches create a supportive community for Veterans and their families. Currently serving and retired CAF and RCMP members, along with their families, are encouraged to engage with their local Legion, fostering connections with other Veterans while becoming active in their community.
